Search

A search for more than one word will find pages that contain all of the words.

Use quotation marks to search for a phrase. Also use quotes for text with punctuation or special characters.

Search examples

Some special characters need to be enclosed in quotes if they are part of your search criteria, including the colon (:), equals sign (=), single quote (') and double quote(").

Advanced Member Skill Search

If you want to pull up member profiles with specific IEEE proficiency skill sets, try this:

Use the "links=Category.SkillName" parameter, with a comma between multiple criteria.

• Use '+' or '-' to force or exclude targets
  • If a criteria is preceded by '-' (minus), it is excluded, so the list will exclude all members linked to that criteria.
  • If a criteria is preceded by '+' (plus), that criteria is required.
  • If some criteria are not preceded by '+' or '-', then the pagelist will contain members with at least one of the skills.
• You can use wildcards in the criteria names, with '*' meaning 'anything', for example "Category.*Auto*" or "Category.Lab*" for anything containing "Auto" or anything beginning with "Lab", respectively.

Try these without the quotes:

"links=Category.*Electr*,Category.*Digit*" will list members with at least one electr(onics) or digit(al) skill.

"links=+Category.*Electr*,+Category.*Digit*" will list members with BOTH one or more electr(onics) AND at least one digit(al) skill.

"links=Category.*Electr*,-Category.*Digit*" will list members with at least one electr(onics) skill but NOT any digit(al) skill.
